Description

First completed thing in 2018! And... it's a setting. In Scraps....

First of all after a few imports of .obj models into Blender I think I understood that they don't have any form of a rig. So I tried to pre-empt this loading the model in XPS and then saving it as a generic item (which gives a .XPS file). By doing this I had an imported model in Blender with a rudimentary armature, which makes my Model Library neater. I also had to find which mesh was the ceiling because that would block out the light; having found it I renamed it as a permanent reminder and for quick access to hiding it when necessary (as I did here for this snip). Renaming things in Blender is handy for such things, like certain accessories (joining them together) and backface meshes.

Secondly, I'm not sure how often I can use this particular setting in all honesty. I added it to my Model Library because it seemed to be the most suitable setting for what I have in mind. For those who keep track of what I do, you'll notice I've prepared Christie and Helena in their Valentine's Day outfits before this. For what I have planned they'll be wearing their aprons.

True, true. Also considering whether I should change that approach somewhat. But I've still got a huge backlog of submissions to get through.

Thirdly, on a more 'technical' note. Given the proportions of the model, I suspect this is an Illusion asset as most of deexie's scenery models I've used have been. The only texture is the diffuse map. At some point I'll have to attempt something simple in GIMP to see if I can create a bump map or something to give the model a slightly different look. Just for experimentation.

Finally, looking forward to seeing GP about this ongoing pain. It's not clearing up (had worst night I've had since it started last night), so the referral should happen. I guess the question is when I'll get to see a specialist considering I've had this undiagnosed pain for close to two months.
