Description

Conception: Initial preparation work for No.3.

Method:
XPS: Load model, open Material editor for texture references.
Blender: Import model, use Material editor to set up textures for nodes set up for each mesh, capture a shot.

Commentary: Well, I wanted to disassociate this little series from my own submissions. A bit of searching made me think this would be a good choice: good layout, decent background and furniture, seems really decent to use for other scenes later too. That was my initial thought anyway. A couple of snags as XPS' Material editor refers to textures which don't actually match to the textures in the model folder; it has similarly named textures but not identically named. That was strange.

Then it seemed to be quite difficult to find the right camera angle too. I had difficulty with camera angles with No.1, and this seems even worse for that. The walls seem to stay solid without the backface culling effect I've grown used to. I can't seem to find a way to mitigate this issue in Blender or XPS. A shame as I really like the layout of this and had plans for that chair. At the moment I can't get a good camera position to use this effectively.

After setting it up, it also occurs to me what happened with GTAV modding recently as well. Might be better to err on the side of caution. As such, I'll need to find another bedroom setting for No.3. Taking longer than I expected due to unforeseen snags in the process. I should get on with preparing the others for No.3 and return to finding a bedroom setting I want to use afterwards.

On another note, this is a full set up with Blender 2.79 on my new PC hardware. It is really speedy now and can give me a fairly decent smooth Rendered Viewport Shading while I work. I am looking forward to getting a new graphics card as my Ryzen 5 1600 is chewing through Blender quicker than my GTX 750 ti. Yes, I am happy with my upgrade.

Guess I better start preparing Ayane...
