Description

Conception: Felt the need to take a break from Blender after a few crashes and pondering which model to add next to model library. Played DOA5LR and chose Christie in her volleyball uniform partnered with Helena in her tennis outfit. I tend to like having the characters in matching outfits, but it struck me that they seem to have different sports outfits... hence leading to this.

Method: Load models into XPS, increase scale of locker room setting, apply poses to Helena and Christie, adjust poses with the props for reference. Endless tinkering. Save picture; crop.
Import picture into Muro and add speech bubbles and text.

Commentary: Ah.... a self initiated scene with more than one character; these are rare. First off... well... I like the pairing of Christie and Helena. I was surprised to find they still act as a tag team after Helena finds out who killed her mother. (Let's not forget that it wasn't her mother Christie was trying to kill...) I guess I'm one of those who likes this particular pairing in spite of how the story goes. But then... I can also see Eliot and Christie making an interesting couple too. Each to their own, I guess.

As is typical with jokey scenes, they take a lot more effort than seems worthwhile in all honesty; especially when props are involved where the characters are holding them. These situations are always a bit fiddly to me. I did try looking for a tennis ball model but couldn't find one. Suddenly the lack of a tennis ball model seems really important... Mind you, an alternative joke would be for Helena to simply say "When I said I didn't have a ball..." or "I meant for you to bring a tennis ball!"

Most interesting things are the props. Not XPS specific for the tennis racket as it's a .obj object. Still has a rudimentary root bone to allow posing thankfully. Otherwise it wouldn't have ended well... It did require opening in XPS itself and wasn't conducive to dragging and dropping as I tend to for many XPS models.

The most troublesome, for whatever reason, remains how Muro works. Importing an image doesn't quite work the way expected, as the predefined canvas size takes precedent. I find I always have to change the canvas size to match the image resolution for it to work properly for importing a picture. In and of itself, Muro didn't quite have the option I wanted for the crossover speech for the shared dialogue. Hopefully it makes enough sense to the eyes.
