No.1: Momiji and Rachel

Conception: Idea proposed by valvefan84. Thought I'd give it a go. How well it fits what they had in mind is questionable.

Method: Load models into XPS, adjust Rachel model scale, tinker away with poses relentlessly, add setting, scale setting and reposition models, take a picture, crop

Commentary: I don't really accept requests (that is, if someone says "I want to see X" then I do X), but I will consider ideas or suggestions I like. This is one which I decided to attempt (as it doesn't go against DeviantArt policy as far as I can tell or my own ethical and aesthetical appreciative leanings). Besides, Momiji and Rachel are amongst my aesthetic favourites in DOA5LR and I love their tag team interaction. Personally I see the roles reversed...

I had hoped to come across a pose pack in which to use for this but I didn't find one which had what I had in mind. So I set to work from scratch. Yes, this is one of those pieces. I had to scale the Rachel model down as it was huge (probably suit the whole giantess thing), so it would match Momiji. Knowing Rachel stands at 172cm and Momiji at 161cm I calculated how much I would need to scale Rachel up to keep their respective height difference. That's just me being pendantic. To compensate I paid less attention to the scale of the setting...

Then cue all the posing... Expressions are still something I'm working on, but the angle doesn't really lend itself well to see their respective expressions. I didn't want Rachel right up against the wall (not until I get a firmer grasp of posing) to avoid clipping issues with her hair. To compensate I had Rachel's hands behind her acting as a brace or cushion. Initially I wanted her flat against the wall with Momiji pinning her arms against the wall, but I didn't like the distortion in the models. Perhaps I'll try that again some day once I figured out how to overcome those imperfections.

The idea here was for Momiji to be holding onto Rachel's arm and slipping her hand beneath her shirt. Hopefully the clipping isn't too bad here, but it seems it worked out fairly well. I also had Momiji on tip toes so she would be tall enough to kiss Rachel's neck. Here I thought Rachel was already accommodating Momiji by lowering herself by bending her knees...

Anyway... a bit fiddly, but interesting enough. Perhaps I should have chosen a different setting, but I felt a beach setting was appropriate (once I found I couldn't find a locker room). Camera angle is perhaps a bit restrictive. Been a while since I created something in just XPS and used Rachel. "You've forgotten me!" I'm still working on the wardrobe department... Wait a minute. This is what you get up to in your time off?! "Er...." "Some privacy, please." Right, excuse me, ladies.

Anyways... I like this enough to set it up for a render... When I manage it I'll submit it. Mind you, without the constraint of the original proposal I think I might even try the tree idea I initially had.

P.S. Didn't seem right to submit this in accordance to my usual one a week schedule as it would mean something like February 2018, so this is submitted well in advance. Creation chronology will show you where this fits in for those of you (yes, you) who read these things. Only the quip in the commentary about Rachel's photoshoot requires knowledge of what happened there. (25th August 2017)
