Description

Conception: Wanted to explore the differences between the same pose in XPS and Blender for a better understanding.

Methodology: Load the same model in Blender and XPS, create a pose in XPS (save) and import pose into Blender, take a snapshot.

Commentary: I've expressed many a disgruntlement about how some poses come out in Blender to how they do in XPS during my little 'artistic' journey here on DeviantArt, so I thought I should explore the issue in a more logical manner. So... the 'pose', for what it's worth, had Christie's left mouth corner using move only, and her right mouth corner using rotate only. After the calamity with Ada Wong I was sure there would be a discrepancy. Nowt here. The only differences come from the rendering of the image. In and of itself, this leaves me in a state of puzzlement as to why the skirt idea with Ada didn't work.

Curiously though, the values for displacement in Blender are different to what I had expected. The value for move was limited to the Y-axis, yet the values in Blender don't match this restriction. All axes in Blender have a non-zero value. What I can glean from this, at the very least, is Blender interprets the move value differently to a simple X,Y,Z translation (ignoring the difference in co-ordinates system used between the two). Further checks suggest this displacement translation holds true in Blender no matter which restriction holds in XPS; that is to say, restriction of movement to a singular axis in XPS still means a displacement for all three in Blender.

Any particular reason for using Christie for this experimentation? I find her pretty, and that's the only reason I need.
