Christie: Morning after 2

Description

Conception: A minor variation of the previous one with the previously desired changes I wanted to make.

Method: Load Christie model and scale adjusted scenery into XPS, position accordingly, load pose, tinker, save pose; load Blender base file, import pose, adjust camera, render.

Commentary: Since I save certain modified files I don't have to make the same changes again. The original scenery is huge and has to be scaled down, and even then the proportions look a bit strange for some of the furniture. So the scenery was loaded into XPS as a .obj file with no complications. Usual thing of loading model and pose. Then the tinkering commences. Looking up close, I've always found eye positioning rather strange when looking at an angle. This was a minor thing I changed. I mentioned Christie's feet were off the floor previously but it turns out it wasn't by much. The adjustments were made to the thigh and ankle bones so she no longer dangles her feet in mid-air. Adjust the spine to bring her right arm back down to rest on her leg, and then the main tinkering to the left shoulder, elbow, wrist and fingers. I made the adjustments to the neck rotation so it looks like she's still resting her head in her hand. The final thing I did was tinker with her expression. I don't think it comes across well here (I think I may render a version where her face is the focus), but I tried to make her seem somewhat sad. About? Who knows? Though I think this is where this sudden series out of nowhere is heading. Oh, and I tried to adjust the necklace.

Saving the pose file I switched to Blender. Load base file and import the pose. As I suspected, the camera angle from the previous picture did hide the black bit. With a bit of experimentation I think I managed to track down why it came out in this manner: the optional hair mesh. The model has an optional hair mesh, and disabling this meant it wasn't rendered to cause the 'black out'. A bit of a shame to lose a bit of hair (she's going bald), but no ugly bits. I'm happy enough with it. I can only guess the textures don't map properly or something. Keeping with the time frame I kept the lighting from the previous effort.

I changed the camera angle here for... reasons.
