A random Lei Fang appears!

Description

Conception: Technically a (Re)Introducing Lei Fang (Cos008)...

Method:
XPS: Load model, open Material editor for texture reference.
Blender: Import model, smooth meshes, remove doubles. Copy and paste prepared node set up to the mesh, use Material editor to assign textures correctly. Repeat.
XPS: Apply a pose, tinker for effect, adjust dress accordingly.
Blender: Copy and paste model to appropriate layer with backdrop, import pose (and keep going back to XPS for tinkering), adjust height position of model to realistically look like it's on the floor. Tinker with camera, lighting and render settings. Check for inconsistencies. Render.

Commentary: Why do I mention that this is technically a (Re)Introducing Lei Fang (Cos008)? Because this is a different Lei Fang model to the first one, but isn't significantly different to the other one (unlike the two nude Eliots). The previous one used an ArmachamCorp model which I found difficult to use because something goes odd with the eyes when importing into Blender. Luckily, rolance also ported the model so I decided to take a look at it as I get back in the swing of things after a longish hiatus due to other duties and ongoing health issues. Luckily again, this model didn't have the same import issue with the eyes. There were a lot of backface textures which I hid for this render as nothing good ever seems to come from them for some bizarre reason. Still haven't figured that out.

Didn't use the cloth physics for the final render and chose to keep the posing manipulation limited to XPS. I did try the cloth physics again, but it does go a bit funny which is annoying. I had hoped that after rendering the animation I could then use Sculpt mode to adjust the imperfections, but I couldn't manage to do that. Still, the effect here seems acceptable. One major defect in the pose is hidden as the front of the dress becomes distorted from the rotations (couldn't figure out why it was the case though). The hair was trickier to get the correct effect I'm looking for though; that required more attention to reduce clipping. As I play the occasional round of DOA5LR I notice the clipping a lot more than I ever did before, and it gets annoying.... :hmph:  A bit of additional practice of technique, as it were, in preparing for the next Rachel picture.

Lei Fang: I was worried I wasn't going to appear after last time...
Limitations and all that, you know. Experimenting a bit as I try to correct a few things with the transparent textures which hasn't gone that well. The top of your stockings aren't quite producing the correct transparent effects as there's a dullness to them rather than properly being transparent to fully expose the skin beneath.
Lei Fang: You want me to expose more skin?
Not what I said.
Lei Fang: Hitomi told me you had her strip...
Er... I was contracted to do that one...
Lei Fang: hmm

I do like this costume of hers though. Thought it was worth reiterating. And with a model I can work with easier, it means there's a bit more impetus to work more with Lei Fang as a result. Not really sure what I'll do with it though probably not enough motivation for a full photoshoot. Still, a bit of practise on face posing (which still remains the most difficult aspect); this was supposed to be a pouty kiss - maybe even duckface... Really should have added in a wink... Honestly, not too pleased with the results because the facial expression is off after my tinkering. Ah well...

Anyway, better return to a model hunt which I'm not having a lot of luck with....
